Plaisir de Merle is a historic farm in the Groot Drakenstein area between Paarl and Franschhoek (Western Cape, South Africa). What started off as a mere promise of a new life for the Marais family some 300 years ago has now become a showpiece wine estate. Plaisir de Merle has established a distinctiveness that is about wine of origin, terroir and craftsmanship. It is one of the largest wine farms in the area – over 900 hectares – which enables the viticulturists to select ideal locations for siting vineyards appropriate to each cultivar. | |
